Pat is the Editor-in-Chief here at 5 Star Pokies. Pat had far from the typical upbringing, growing up in the small town of Winton in Outback Queensland, which itself has some interesting claims to fame throughout its history – not including the town rubbish bins disguised as giant dinosaur feet! We love hearing Pat’s stories from his bush-bashing adventure days; but fast forward to how Pat joined us here at 5 Star Pokies.

Pat shared similar dreams with every outback teenage boy; the first one was to be like Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin… but that was always going to turn out badly. So, his backup was to be a high school teacher. Pat is mad keen for three things – which is why his nickname on the footy team was Hatrick-Kelly. These three loves of Pat’s are numbers, teaching, and old school casino memorabilia/antiques. Combine Pat’s successful career as a mathematics teacher and head of curriculum with his obsessive love for rusty old pokies and casino antiques, and you have an Editor-in-Chief who really loves his role here at 5 Star Pokies.

Founder: – Daniel Wilson

Daniel is the fearless founder of 5 Star Pokies and part-time contributor to our game guides and blog. Daniel grew up in the Northern Territory and spend most of his childhood on the stool at the bar of the tavern that his mum and dad owned. Sounds cliché, but it happened. Daniel would come from school and spend the evenings at the tavern, which meant he grew up around pokies, keno, and casino games installed throughout the tavern.

When the time came, not wanting to stay and work in the tavern meant Daniel was off and looking to create his own success, forever linked with the internet, thanks to a love for technology.

The idea for creating an Australian affiliate casino site came from a conversation he had with an old friend at the tavern during a return to the Territory. While talking with his mate, a man wrapped his arms around Daniel and asked him for a trick to cash out on the pokies.
